Michael Barrett

Conference & Research Manager, TFWA & Executive Officer, APTRA

Michael started his career in 1995 as a journalist at European news channel EuroNews in Lyon before joining the network's marketing department. Since then he has worked in both media and new media, as well as for an international NGO, specialising in fundraising, marketing and communications. Michael joined TFWA as Conference & Research Manager in 2006. He is part of the TFWA Marketing and Conference Department, responsible for organising the TFWA World Exhibition and TFWA Asia Pacific & GATE ONE2ONE conferences in Cannes and Singapore , as well as the annual MEDFA Conference. In July 2010, he was appointed Executive Officer for the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA), a position he holds alongside his TFWA role.

Dermot Davitt

Executive Director – Deputy Publisher, The Moodie Report

Dermot Davitt is an experienced editor and commentator working in the travel retail media. He joined The Moodie Report in April 2006 as Deputy Publisher and Editor of the company's Digital Print Division. Previously he spent 10 years with trade magazine Duty-Free News International, six of those years as Editor-in-Chief. He is based in Galway, Ireland

Marek Kolasinski

Managing Editor, Frontier Magazine

Marek Kolasinski joined Frontier in October 2006 and became its Managing Editor in October 2007. In addition to his role with Frontier Magazine and its accompanying guide Frontier Brands, he is responsible for all aspects of the annual Frontier Awards. Marek is the co-founder of Global Solutions, a networking association that meets several times a year to analyse and address industry issues for its members. Prior to Frontier, he worked for several publications, including trade and consumer magazines targeting a range of audiences.

Doug Newhouse

Doug Newhouse is the founding Editorial Director of The Travel Retail Business, the industry's monthly trade magazine serving the duty free and travel retail industry. He is also the Editor of the daily travel retail internet news service www.trend-news.com - a joint venture between "The Business" and the industry's global analysts, Generation Databank. He contributed to numerous publications and film media, and spoken at many industry conferences over the years.

John Rimmer

Executive Director – Business Development, The Moodie Report

John Rimmer entered the travel retail industry in March 2000, joining trade magazine Duty-Free News International as a journalist, initially focused on the liquor industry. John was named editor of DFNI’s sister magazine Travel Retailer International in 2002, and two years later became editor of DFNI. In that role John travelled extensively, becoming a respected commentator on the duty free industry and moderating several conferences.
In September 2006 John relocated to Paris, joining travel retailer Aelia as deputy director of business development. At Aelia John participated in and managed a number of development projects, as the company sought to increase its presence beyond France.
During the summer of 2010 John returned to the UK, where he joined Moodie International as executive director, with responsibility for business development. He was instrumental in the planning for the Trinity Forum along with various other projects, including the Airport Commercial Revenues Study.
