MEADFA Conference 2015 in review
26/11/2015. The 2015 MEADFA Conference, held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre on the shores of the Dead Sea in Jordan, brought together 342 delegates to hear some excellent addresses and presentations from high-level speakers from within and beyond our industry. Retailers and landlords made up nearly 30% of the total audience, with most of the Middle East and Africa’s leading operators in attendance. Read more

Making waves at MEADFA
04/11/2015. Like the passengers it serves, duty free and travel retail rarely stands still, but the market is changing faster than usual at present. Alongside the fallout from economic and political shifts, industry consolidation and the growth of mobile, the geographical tide is turning. One major beneficiary is the Middle East, where passenger traffic rose +10.6% over the first half according to ACI. Increasingly seen as a global aviation hub, the region now has world-class airport infrastructure and retailers to match. Factor in the rapid advance of Africa’s duty free and travel retail sector, and it’s clear why this part of the world is attracting industry attention. Read more
