Executive Officer, Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA)
Michael Barrett is Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA), where since 2010 he manages the association’s activities, including the advocacy work, Responsible Retail Training Programme (RRTP), consumer insights and events, namely the APTRA KPMG Insights Seminars and APTRA Airport Forum.
He previously worked with global duty free association TFWA in Paris, where he managed the association’s research programme and TFWA’s conferences in Cannes, Singapore, China and the Middle East.
Prior to joining the duty free industry, Michael held various marketing and business development positions in France and Germany in both the media and digital media industries as well as with an international NGO. Michael is also the founder and director of an NGO, which focuses on both disability and environmental issues, with operations in India and Cambodia, where he currently resides.
