TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference
TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference 2023
TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference (7-11 May in Singapore) makes a full-scale return this year with passenger traffic in the region accelerating as China reopens.

Marina Bay sands
Following the success of last year’s Asia Pacific Live event, May 2023 will see TFWA Asia Pacific Exhibition & Conference back in force at the Marina Bay Sands venue in Singapore. The Conference, to be opened by TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen, features a panel of senior retailers who will discuss the regional outlook for DF&TR and what travel retail means to today’s younger travellers. Delegates can expect a thought-provoking session where the latest travel and retail trends are sure to figure. Changi Airport Group will be official Conference host, with Dufry and Mondelez as platinum sponsors.

TFWA i.lab Asia will debut in Singapore this year, in a dedicated area on Level 1. The industry’s showcase for innovation and ESG, partnered by the Singapore Tourism Board, will include companies from across the Asia Pacific region and beyond. Online pitch sessions will summarise each participant’s offer and TFWA’s ONE2ONE meeting service can facilitate introductory encounters. TFWA i.lab Asia’s opening hours will mirror the Exhibition (09:00 to 18:00 daily except Thursday, when doors close at 17:00). Interest in the Exhibition itself is particularly strong – requests for stand space received in December were at the same level as 2019, a record year, with larger companies well represented.

Matching the more relaxed approach to networking now preferred by many in DF&TR, the social programme in Singapore prioritises informal mixing. After Sunday evening’s Welcome Cocktail at Gardens by the Bay, delegates will get the chance to mingle at a post-Conference lunch on Monday, with the afternoon free for further networking. On Monday (17:00-21:00), Tuesday and Wednesday (18:00-21:00), the TFWA Asia Pacific Lounge provides an ideal setting for early-evening socialising (MBS Level 4). As one of Asia’s prime MICE venues, the MBS is being upgraded with enhanced facilities and redesigned guest rooms, leaving some areas closed for the alterations. Delegates are advised to book early as accommodation will be limited.
