Deprived of the opportunity to meet and network with their peers in Asia Pacific since before the pandemic, duty free and travel retail professionals in the industry’s leading region were able to interact face-to-face again. TFWA Asia Pacific Live was a two-day, in-person, live networking event on the same dates and at the same venue as the conference and exhibition it replaced. Conditions in the region made a conventional trade show impractical, but the revised format meant delegates were still able to mix, identify potential partners and do business.
The event programme provided ample opportunities for delegates to meet, both formally via TFWA’s ONE2ONE meeting service and informally in the venue foyer on Level 5 of the Marina Bay Sands complex, which was specially configured for face-to-face discussions. In addition, there were three workshop-type learning sessions per day over two days, punctuated by networking pauses in the form of coffee breaks and lunches. Each session tackled a specific theme relevant to the region, with a special APTRA Exchange session taking place on Tuesday 10 May at 4pm. Social gatherings at the TFWA Asia Pacific Lounge (Level 4 of the MBS) on Monday and Tuesday evenings gave delegates further scope for making new contacts.
Registered delegates and TFWA members unable to attend physically can view replays of the learning sessions via the TFWA 365 digital platform . The Delegate Directory is also accessible to participants via TFWA 365.
TFWA Asia Pacific Live represented a vital chance to reconnect with colleagues and partners in a crucial region for duty free and travel retail.
