A major player in China's dynamic duty free market, SZDF has over 40 years' experience but is firmly focused on future development, with Hainan a key element. The company's You Jiangwei elaborates.
What are you particularly looking forward to about TFWA Asia Pacific Hainan Special Edition?
Communicating online with major travel retailers, discussing global duty free trends, especially the future direction of Hainan’s offshore duty free market, and sharing our sales experience in Hainan and our company’s plans for the future. We’re looking forward to learning more about other companies’ approach to travel retail, their product portfolios and how we can work together. We hope to hear new perspectives about the online business and the future development of cross-border e-commerce.
Why did you want to support TFWA Asia Pacific Hainan Special Edition?
Because it will give us greater access to industry resources including the latest industry thinking, dialogue with domestic and international industry members, exposure on media platforms, and bring long-term exhibition benefits for retailers. The event will help Shenzhen Duty Free to refine its development plans, and be a source of industry insights, which can contribute to SZDF’s business strategy in Hainan. TFWA provides a platform for matching companies with brands, which helps to enhance Shenzhen Duty Free’s multi-faceted procurement capabilities. It’s also important to strengthen our collaboration with related players in the channel (like airports and airlines), and to deepen the multi-level understanding of tourism development. This will help Shenzhen Duty Free learn from the management and operational experience of other companies.
What are you expecting to achieve from your participation?
We want to establish links with more companies and further enhance our procurement capabilities. We hope to hear from the experts in different fields, get a wide range of views on the outlook for the duty free industry, and prepare the ground for the future development of Shenzhen Duty Free in Hainan. The event will give us a broader platform to raise our company profile, achieve broader awareness for Shenzhen Duty Free and explain what we can offer.
