After a pandemic-enforced break in 2020, the industry’s flagship gathering in Cannes is set to return this year from 24th to 28th October in a move widely welcomed by DF&TR professionals.
For more than three decades, TFWA World Exhibition & Conference has occupied a unique place in the duty free and travel retail calendar. Drawing 12,000 industry professionals including CEOs and key buyers to the Cote d’Azur every autumn, the week-long event has become a one-stop forum for networking, brand launches and fresh thinking. Its cancellation last year, although inevitable with coronavirus widespread internationally, deprived the business of a vital rendezvous.
TFWA World Exhibition & Conference’s return to Cannes for 2021 has been welcomed by many, with exhibitor feedback especially positive. Scheduled to run from Sunday 26th September, the gathering will close on Thursday 30th September, its format to be guided by the prevailing health and travel environment. Speaking at the European Travel Retail Confederation’s Annual Business Forum, TFWA President Jaya Singh expressed confidence that this year’s event will be “the opportunity for which we are all desperate to gather as a global industry once again”.
