TFWA World Exhibition & Conference

The excitement surrounding the 2024 edition of TFWA World Exhibition & Conference (29 September – 3 October in Cannes) is not just because of the association’s 40th anniversary.

Festive feel

There will be a celebratory theme to this year’s DF&TR global summit in Cannes, with festive touches throughout the week to mark TFWA’s 40th anniversary. But the causes for excitement aren’t confined to this important milestone. Monday morning’s Conference will see a genuinely world-class line-up of speakers take to a new-look stage in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals. Among them will be former US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton. Her long and distinguished career of public service, including roles as First Lady, US Senator and presidential candidate, gives her a unique perspective on today’s geopolitical trends. Beforehand, TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen will make his final state-of-the-industry address before stepping down in December.

Brands, tech & trends

Opening at midday straight after the Conference, the Exhibition will bring together the industry’s biggest brands and emerging names on hundreds of stands in the Palais complex, Riviera, Bay, Harbour and Majestic Beach Villages plus five other Beach Villages. TFWA i.lab, the industry’s showcase for innovation, will also be there with the latest digital and in-store engagement solutions, data tools and traveller services. An early-morning workshop on Tuesday will provide an update on digital trends and passenger preferences, along with strategies for success in DF&TR’s fast-changing landscape. And on the concourse in front of the Palais, delegates should keep an eye out for a nod to TFWA’s 40th anniversary.

Sociable summitry

Adding to the excitement around this year’s event, ‘Starry Night’ on Wednesday evening will celebrate the association’s 40th anniversary with a glittering party on the Carlton Beach, specially extended for the week. Expect a sumptuous buffet, music and aerial entertainment. The ever-popular Opening Cocktail (‘Nuit Blanche’) will take place in the same location at 7pm on Sunday, as will the TFWA Lounge with its after-work and night-time sessions on Monday and Tuesday. Badge-holders will have complimentary access to the social programme. The leisure activities will feature the return of TFWA’s popular Pétanque Tournament and the wheelchair rugby organised by m1nd-set and Stade Toulousain, both on Sunday morning. Further details, including how to register, will be on tfwa.com shortly.
