Santa Margherita launches its new «MILIUM» line, exclusively for the travel retail channel, inspired by the Venetian Marco Polo’s travels in Asia.

Santa Margherita has completed its exclusive range dedicated to travel retail with the launch of the new «MILIUM» line, a tribute to «Il Milione» (“Book of the Marvels of the World”) by the Venetian Marco Polo.

The exclusive packaging featuring the most iconic modern and ancient landmarks of the Silk Road conceals a white Venezia D.O.C. - a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Bianco - and a red Veneto I.G.T. based on Merlot and Cabernet. The labels and gift packs are notable for their use of FSC paper and therefore their particular attention to sustainability, with a unique design that sets these wines apart as products in the super premium category.

Through this packaging Santa Margherita celebrates the city of Venice - which has always been a proud representative of culture, commerce and art, as well as a silent witness in 1935 of the birth of the Company in its hinterland - and the theme of travel and the positive values associated with it, which are also to be found in Santa Margherita’s identity and in its history, as is the Company’s predisposition for discovery and its courage in exploring continually new horizons. Just as Marco Polo, in his travels, was driven by a sense of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, so Santa Margherita has - as a pioneer and innovator - always explored new frontiers of taste and vinous pleasure, thus continuing to retain a contemporary flair.

Santa Margherita therefore adds another important element to its selection reserved for travel retail, completing an offering focused up until now on its iconic sparkling wines - Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore D.O.C.G. Brut and Sparkling Rosé Brut -, on the timeless best seller Pinot Grigio Valdadige D.O.C., and on the Merlot Veneto I.G.T. with its total-green packaging.
